Science Current Event #1

Built from steel pieces of the World Trade Center, The USS New York was made an active war ship on Saturday, November 7 to represent healing and the strength of The United States of America. The Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, stated that no matter how many times people attack our country, we will always come back. This is what the USS New York represents. He spoke to several Navy officers along with sailors and families of September 11. Mabus said to all of the viewers, "I hereby place the USS New York in commission."

In my opinion, I feel that The USS New York is a great symbol of our country's ability to regain strength. We have gone through tragedy, but even something as terrible as September 11 can't bring The U.S.A. down. I'm sure that the families of 9/11 now feel very comforted by the strength in our country to fight back. Our country will not be taken down by any tragedies of any sort.
