Lit-Summer Reading Question

What character did you identify with the most? Why?

In Death Be Not Proud, I identified with John Gunther the most. This was because he was the author and throughout the whole book you could tell how he was feeling. If he was sad, joyful or any other emotion, you could tell. Even though the whole story was about his son, Johnny, I think that readers got to know John a little bit more than Johnny. However, I believe that readers felt tremendously for Johnny, including me.

Bullying (Man's inhumanity to Man)

Even though bullying is wrong, it will always be a part of the world and it will most likely never go away.  This is because bullies have a way of influencing people.  They intimidate others and people feel like their only option is to follow them in what they're doing.  In Lord of the Flies, Jack has influenced almost everybody on the island except for Piggy.  At the beginning of the book, Ralph was sort of like a friend to Piggy.  But when Jack came along, that friendship was shortly over.  Jack influenced Ralph and now when Jack makes fun of Piggy or does something to him, Ralph goes along with it.  This is a perfect example of how bullies influence and intimidate.  There will probably never be an end to bullying and if there is, it will be a long time from now.

My favorite subject is Science because I like doing experiments and learning new things. Also, it can help in life when you do experiments because you know what things to use when you are doing a project or job. You know how to get the job done better by experimenting.

The best book I ever read was On The Run. I really enjoyed this book because it was very intense and exciting. It's a story about two fugitives who escape from their prison camp to try to prove their parents innocence. They have to keep their identities a mystery on their journey because if someone were to find out who they were, they would be sent back to the camp. I was on the edge of my seat reading this book and I was never bored with it.

My favorite food to buy in the cafeteria is pretzels. They're really soft and taste so good.

On the weekend, when all my chores are done, I like to relax and hang out with some of my friends. In the summer, I'm always swimming, but now my pool is closed and I can't.

If I won a free airline ticket to any place, I would go to Italy. I've always wanted to go there since I was little.

My favorite color is RED.

If I had a pet,(other than my dog) it would be a fish. I had a fish before, but I forgot to feed it when I was sick and it died.

This year, if I work hard enough, I hope to get Straight A's atleast one trimester.
