While reading about traits and heredity on
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/, I was shocked at some of the very interesting things I learned. For example, I learned that all humans share 99.9 percent of identical DNA. I was very surprised because humans look very different from eachother, but are incredibly alike. While learning about heredity, I found that the mother and father of a baby each have 23 chromosomes to form a cell called a zygote. The zygote is made of 46 chromosomes and when it divides, it forms a baby. This division is why children sometimes are more like one parent or sometimes are like both. These are two of many interesting things I learned about genetics.
